<description>HP Compaq 3000W PSU just purchased, my measurements

Output voltage 51.7 V (originally)

20 pin connector at output side, voltages related to the 0 V output
Row 2 pin 3: +4.3 V pin 5: 0 V
Row 4 pin 3: +4.0 V pin 5: 0 V
For Output voltage ON Pins 3 and 5 connected in both rows, then +60 mV.
There is no galvanic connection between pins 5 and the 0 V DC output. But n-channel MOSFETs can easily be used for the switching.

Tests with 1 A load current (51 W DC):
Output ON delay (when Pins connected): 5 ms
Output OFF delay: about 250 ms (output capacitor discharge, e-function)
Switching frequency:
Main: 50 kHz
Secondary: 385 kHz and 500 kHz
Output ripple: 70 mV peak (on 1 A load), mainly 50 kHz
Mains current (with clamp meter):
310 mA no jumpers, blower running
640 mA with 1 A load (35% efficiency)
Sorry I have no load resistance or PA for higher currents
Adjusting the output voltage:
This is possible through the potentiometer on the secondary board near the aluminium cooler, it is hidden by silicon glue. Turning clockwise: 50.4 V output. I would like to have 46 to 48 V for more safety for the PA transistors but this will be difficult.

<description>Thanks for the pictures of that HP power supply.
It helped me to get this PSU up and running.
Nice and cheap PSU. It is quiet on the radio. Couldn&#039;t find spuries and noise while using it.

<description>Very nice antennas...I&#039;m a bit jealous of the 2M array.

You had a lot of teething problems, but expect good things from you in the future.

good luck!

<description>How do you guys maintain the energy levels and have all those fantastic operators? This time around, hardly anyone even showed up here in Maine. K1BX was the only guy who showed up wanting to work people. He operated six meters only. We went QRT there from about midnight to 10 AM Sunday morning. (Art went home to sleep) WW1M and I spent the weekend working on hooking stuff up for future contests, but seeing your recap of June makes me want to take my hat off and salute a bunch of hard workers. No pain.. No gain. Wow what a bunch of work! I am impressed.

		<description>Very impressive!

I thought I was the only one Murphy was picking on:) No fun for me this time around, my Rover truck was broke down.

Good luck with the station improvements. It will be hard to log K8GP and not write in FM08!

		<description>Hello, just as an FYI.

N2NK has now adopted the Sussex County ARC call of W2LV which we&#039;ve been using for the last couple of years now. The trustee of N2NK is no longer a part of our merry band.

Congratulations on your effort and see you in September.
